Switch To Solar Power Now
Solar power is defined as the conversion of the suns light energy into electrical energy, by the help of solar panels which use a technology called photovoltaic embedded in them, which makes use of the Suns light rays directly. These panels are able to generate around 5 KWh of electricity, depending on your geographical location that is enough to supply electricity to your home for your basic need.
There are two types of solar power systems. One system depends on the direct conversion of sun’s rays using the above defined Photovoltaic arrays in the panels, these can be installed easily at a number of places such as the roof, garden or any other open are you might have. The other system depends on indirect conversion of the sun’s energy, which is obtained by concentrating all of the light’s rays towards a fluid (usually water), using either large number of mirrors or lens that are arranged at specific angles.
This system works similar to a magnifying glass, producing heat energy by concentrating light. Heating the fluid produces steam, which is used to run turbines to produce electricity. This method has more commercial potential then residential.
Sun’s energy has numerous benefits in our homes. The first one being that it helps us live green life style by decreasing our contribution to pollution, secondly it reduces our electricity cost, since sun light reach every where and is free to harvest after the initial cost, hence proves to be more economical for the owner in the long run.
This source of energy can also be used to reduce our gas usage as well; this is by the use thermal boilers and heaters to use the sun’s energy for cooking and heating. The way science and technology is going soon we’ll see more efficient solar panels that cost less and produce twice the energy making them much more effective.
